We work closely with growers of DOP basil in Liguria, an area protected by the European Union and considered to be the Pesto capital of the world. The particular terroir creates highly fragrant basil, more so than any other region in Italy. Our growers pick the leaves in the middle of the growing cycle, when the flavor is at its peak; they are immediately transferred to the plant where they are blended with Italian cheese, Italian olive oil and Italian pinenuts, among other ingredients. Our Pesto is 100% fresh and natural, never injected with preservatives or stabilizers, never pasteurized.
